Tyranitars Terrorizing Trample
Tyranitar starts out its pokemon
life as a rather innocent-looking little rock skin pokemon named larvitar. With
only 40hp and a single attack-bit-larvitar doesn't appear much of a threat. Its
resistance to lightning will help you battles aginst
Electabuzz,Rocket Zapdos,ot the rare
Pikechy, butbeing weak to grass is a big draw back.the two Neo sets have
delivered a bunch of good green beast dangerous to little Larvatar:Neo
Oddish[with Absorb] and Chikorita[with Razor Leaf] both can do a quick 20
damage, worth 40 against Larvitar for a knock out!Best to evolve Larvitar
to Pupitar as soon as possible.
Although Pupitar is also weak
to grass attacks, its 70hp will hop it hold out longer, and it has two very good
attacks.Its first attack,Skull Bash,does 20 damage[for two colorless
energies].Even better is Pupitar's Dust Devil attack, which does 10 damage to
each non-fighting pokemon in play.Since this includes you own pokemon, use it
with care and wait until your opponent gas filled gis or ger Bench with
non-fighting pokemon for its best effect.Like Larvitar, you will want to evolve
your beast int its gihgest form, the real deal, Tyranitar.
At 100hp,Tyranitar is truly
one of the seriows new "big boys" of pokemon.Suddenly turning into a Dark
pokemon, Tyranitar loses Larvitar's and Pupitar's weakness to grass - and gains
resistance to Psychic attacks. It's frist attack, Slam, costs three of any color
enerhy and requires yo to flip two coins:the attack does 30 damahe times the
number of geads.Since Tyranitar is a Dark pokemon ,each Darkness enerhy you use
adds 10 damage. If it's your lucky day and you get three heads with nothing but
Darkness enerhy attached, that's a whopping 120 damage in one attack! As if that
isn't devastating enough'Tyranitar's second attack gets even worse:Trample does
a base damage of 50 to the defending pokemon, then you must flip a coin for each
benched pokemon in play[both yours and your opponent's].The angry Amor pokemon
does 30 damage to each bench pokemon for each heads coin flip.Keeping your own
bench small is one way to limit the damage this attack can do to your own
team. Also, try to deep an Unown D tucked away on you bench, since it's "Darkness"
pokemon power reduces by 30 any damage done to your pokemon by darkness
attacks. And don't forget the additional effect of those Darkness enerhies rquird
for Tyranitar's Trample attack: they will icrease th base damage to 70, and
raise the damage done to each benched pokemon to 50.One successful Trample
attack can actually knock our you opponent's entire team[as well as your own],so
trample with care!
Since Tyranitar depends on
Darkness energies to power up its best attacks, include Staduim Trainer cards
like Ecogym or No Removal Gym to preserve your precious special energy cards. And
don't forget our Breeder to speed up Larvitar's evolution to Tyranitar and
pokemon Trader to exchange unneeded pokemon from you hand for that Tyranitar
buried in you deck.
